Help! It’s school holiday! What can I do with my hyper ASD child in Singapore?

This is the most daunting part for parent of children with autism(ASD).
There are some great blogs that we read in particular Cheekiemonkie‘s recent post
So, we say WOW!!! Then we begin to wonder…hmm, maybe yeah maybe not.
HOLD ON, we can’t hide ASD children forever! We need to do something or anything even to join some activities listed by Cheekiemonkie.

Do not panic! Here are some activities exclusively line up for ASD community this SEPTEMBER:

Craft Buffet by The Art Faculty

Eight days of all-you-can-craft. That’s the school term break sorted! And it’s never too early to start making personalised gifts for Christmas!

SG4Neurodiversity Sept Holiday Programme by AESThe Sharing Garden Working Group
#SG4Diversity is a community building programme designed for persons with neurological differences.

“The Very Hungry Catepillar” by Republic Poly

A 2nd sensory performance, a story based on the Legend of Bukit Merah
9 Sep, friday, 1pm. 
Tentative program:
– 15 mins pre show art and craft (simple props making)
– 15 mins performance
– 15 mins post show interaction/phototaking with props and characters

Venue is Republic Poly Cultural Centre, Woodlands.
ASD of all ages and severity are welcome. 
Each ASD beneficiary may be accompanied by up to 2 caregivers. 
Target about 15 families. 
We will open up to siblings nearer the date, if there are untaken slots.

Mums Relax Programme

is made possible with the generous support from two great friends of ASD families– Kidz Amaze Kidz Amaze staff at SAFRA Toa Payoh and student volunteers led by Dr Juliet Choo from Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Playdate at The Quartz (Parent initiated)

Theme: Mid Autumn Festival


Date: 10 Sept 2016, Saturday
Venue: The Quartz, 51 Compassvale Bow Singapore 544984 – nearest train station: MRT Buangkok
Time: 630pm – 830pm
Food: mooncake (each family bring 1 mooncake)
Cost sharing : under $6 per child (mainly for activities material)

1) DIY lantern making
2) Group activities
3) This is also time to go outdoor to play with the lanterns and appreciate the  moon and see if we can spot the shadow of the Moon Fairy or Jade Rabbit.
